I have been starting yeast this way for years, I don't like to use any kind of chemical when culturing yeast. I do use alcohol to sterilize my hands and the outside of the yeast container but other than that it is just heat. I am getting really good results every time. Working with burning hot liquid is a little tricky but hey, if you are a true homebrewer you must be used to that

Aloha Beer Company
I had the Aloha Blonde with lunch the other day, it was quite enjoyable!
ALOHA BLONDE
Our lightest and most refreshing ale. Crisp and clean with a very delicate hop profile, Aloha Blonde is a very pale, light-bodied ale that is perfectly suited to Hawaii's warm tropical climate.

When it comes to beer, there are purists and there are those who are not.
The purists want beer made from grain, hops, water and yeast — and nothing else.

Jockey Box Foam
So the question was, why does the beer come out so foamy from my jockey box? My instant response was the keg may have been shaken or jolted during transpost? This link may provide some help

Heavy Finger at the Kona Hombrew Comp 2013
Well, we entered our all new Blonde Ale in the competition this year at Kona. We have brewed it a few times and made a few adjustments but it is definitely a work in progress. A very good beer, I am not used to making such a light beer and it is a whole new area for me. I love stout & porter but I actually do enjoy drinking the "Whimpy Willie" as it is called. Brewed in the memory of our lost brewing partner, Chad Albin Troberg A.K.A. "Willie", the whole Willie series are a bunch of great beers. Dead Willie, Big Willie, Willies Cousin Willie, and of course Whimpy Willie. Willies cousin Willie got a silver at the Kona Competition in 2012. This year, Whimpy Willie didn't bring in any medal but the judges seemed to like it. Mahalo to the +Kona Beer Festival Homebrew Contest for putting together the competition and a special congratulations to my friend Diki Short who got best of show with his Jaboticaba Mead "Jaboticaba Jamboree #419", Nice work Diki!
